This is a spacious branch with exceptionally high ceiling. I have pass by this shop a few times even see it in shanghai when i was there but never have i try it before. Among all the other japanese places the Q is consider short during dinner time at The Star Vista, we are just the second in Q browsing the menu during the wait.
Seriously I think the restaurant ought to change their menu pictures, its totally not appetizing by looking at the photo. Maybe curry rice is not an easy shot due to its color and the combi for the rice like fish fillet, fried prawn etc.
Mushroom Omelette Curry Rice |
The fried chicken was over fried too can taste the fried oil taste.
First mouth of the rice and it taste pretty good, flavorful with a little melted cheese and mushroom. Together with the egg and rice its kinda good match. Slightly disappointed that the rice is not wrapped in the egg but rather the egg just top on the rice, well it doesnt really matter but it just seems to "taste" better that way.
Pork Cutlet Omelette Curry Rice |
The curry for the pork cutlet is the same as the mushroom rice without the mushroom. The pork cutlet taste well with the curry and the portion is quite big actually. To me i start to get tired or bored eating the curry 1/2 way thru the gravy. i guess if there are other addition to the gravy it may not get sick of it so fast, maybe potato or carrot will be good :)
One thing i like about this place is, if you opt for the normal curry rice without the omelette, you can actually choose your rice portion and spiciness. With a reduction of rice portion they actually give you certain rebate. However this is not applicable to the omelette rice as i understand that the omelette rice should be pre-portioned and cannot make adjustment to it.
Pricing wise the curry rice range from is around $13.90 - $16.90 if i remember correctly, reasonable for a resturant setting. Our bill came up to $37 plus consisting 2 omelette rice and one side order of fried chicken.
