There are quite a handful of selection for the menu, they have sets too each consisting a rice and soba. Its very filling because of the 2 main dishes.
We ordered a black pepper salmon and soba set, and a la cart dishes of soba with some tempura items (i cant recall the actual name), a portion of salmon with quail egg, tamago, grill duck and also we end the meal with a green tea cheese cake and ice cream.
Black pepper salmon and soba set |
The set came with a mini black pepper salmon rice, soba with a zesty duck dip, fried toufu and orange. The soya sauce that came with the set taste pretty salty unlike normal japanese soya instead it reminds me more of chinese soya sauce instead.
Personally i feel that black pepper and salmon doesnt goes quite well as the black pepper flavorful taste has actully covered the sweetness of salmon nature flavor.
The dip is taste good with the soba but too salty on its own. Its filled with generous filling of mushrooms, beancurd skin and also 2 pcs of duck slices.
Tempura Soba |
Tempura Soba is special with a half cooked egg by the center of the noodles. Am not too sure if this dish should be serve hot or cold coz when its presented, its neither..more like room temperature noodle with tempura. Its a bit bland to my liking for the noodle but with the fried mushroom and vegetable its acceptable and the portion is generous.
Salmon with quail egg |
The other side dishes ordered was the grilled duck with salt and leek by the side. This dish you definitely must dip a dash of salt with the leek and wrap the duck around it before sending the whole piece into your mouth then it taste good. Initially i just eat the duck slice and i feel to myself..this is tasteless but with the leek and salt its chewy and appetizing in fact :)
